The Whozits™
Mrs. M
My Favorite Math Teacher
In a society based entirely on math, the math teachers are among the most revered of citizens. Mrs. M is a legend among the Whozits™: she's credited with teaching Captain Mathinator his trademark division defense, and it's rumored that she's the one who taught the Sneaky Subtractor how to subtract. Mrs. M was recently honored by the Association of Addition Ambassadors for her 'admirable achievement in the ancient art of addition.'
Captain Mathinator
Sequential Superhero
Faster than a speeding bisector, more powerful than a logarithm, able to leap whole numbers in a single bound, it's Captain Mathinator, the Whozit's™ resident superhero. Residing in his fortress of fractions, he's always on hand to save the day whenever danger threatens the good folk of Wherezit. With his patented addition attack and his trademark division defense, the Captain laughs in the face of compound fractions and scoffs at his nemesis, the Sneaky Subtractor.
Sneaky Subtractor
Resident Radical
The Sneaky Subtractor began his career as the world's greatest living expert on subtraction. Whozits™ came from all around to admire his subtraction smarts, and for awhile, he stuck to subtracting his own stuff. Eventually, however, he began to branch out, subtracting stamps from the Whozits'™ letters, and then mailboxes from the Whozits'™ houses. When he attempted to subtract all the pi-cycles in town, Captain Mathinator drove him away, but the Whozits™ still see him sneaking around from time to time.
Bond
Chief Chemist
This Whyzit™ practically lives in his lab, engineering entertainment marvels such as his famous Wholiday fireworks, or compounding concoctions to help the Whozits.™ If you find a strange substance in the streets, chances are it escaped from Bond's lab. Bond's secret to making mixtures that stick is to shake, not stir them, and he drives an Aston Micron, a particle-powered vehicle of his own invention.
Debra Hansen
Head Honcho (CEO)
Debra is the head honcho and inspirational instigator of Teacher's Professional Resource. Debra was recruited by the Whozits™ to create and head a fantastic company where fun and creativity define the employees, the products, and, most importantly, the boss. A long time ago, in a classroom far, far away, Debra was a music teacher, which is one of the reasons she gets along so well with the Whozits™- she's good at things like counting, patterns, and dividing things by four. Debra was so good at numbers, in fact, that she later served as CFO (Big Kahuna In Charge of Money) of an international software company, where she never quite forgot about music and math and teaching. When she met the Whozits™, she knew she had to introduce them and their neighbors to the rest of the world so that other teachers and students could benefit from their inspired ideas and unsquelchable adoration of all things mathematical.
Cody McNutt
Business Buddy
Cody is a creative crock-pot; the Whozits™ turn to him when making something new. He always knows just how to produce it, package it, and get it where it needs to go. The Whozits™ have learned that he means business when things get going, and that they can always 'count' on him when something needs to be done.
Molly McNeil
Creative Creations
Molly is the Whozit's™ official portrait painter, shape sketcher, doodle drafter, and figure figure-outer. Since Whozits™ are notoriously camera-shy, Molly's masterpieces are the only way the rest of us can get a glimpse of the round residents of Wherezit. She also designs decorations such as posters and postcards, and generally makes the website a more pleasant place.
Erin Buterbaugh
Whimsical Writer
Erin is a word-wielder and comma-corrector, the Ambassador to the Whozits™ from the segment of society who'd rather pen prose than solve sums. She helps the Whozits™ communicate clearly with the rest of the world by keeping their 'Os' and 'zeros' straight, adding up their adjectives, and making sure every page is divisible by whole sentences.
